Tehuamixtle is a little fishing village located in a sheltered bay and is famous for its seafood, and in particular, its oysters. It’s mostly untouched by tourism and is considered old style Mexico. It lies just beyond the Banderas Bay and south of Puerto Vallarta.

It is a beautiful trip to take with a Suite Marine boat.

1. Its a great place for snorkeling, boat rides and sunbathing

2. Visit the south beach named Playita del Amor.

3. Dolphins, Manta Rays and sea turtles often visit the Tehuamixtle cove.

4. The oysters and seafood are famous here and worth the trip alone

5. There is a small hotel close to the beach if you want to stay overnight and enjoy a bonfire on the beach.

6. There are three food kiosks close to the beach selling authentic local food such as aguachile and shrimp ceviche.

7. Scuba fans can search for the sunken ship in the middle of the bay

8. Close to Tehuamixtle there is an area named Los Morros which is a rocky formation great for diving.

9. It’s a beautiful trip to take on a boat (but riving takes 2 hours from Puerto Vallarta)

10. There is a marine sea turtle protective reserve in the area.
